PETROPERU provides books in braille to the Natinal Library of Peru
- Spotlight on the works of Cesar Vallejo and Jose Maria Arguedas
In order for people with visual disabilities to have access, free of charge, to literature and education, PETROPERÚ delivered an important batch of books to libraries in various districts of Lima, such as El Agustino, El Rímac and Comas, all belonging to to the National Library of Peru.
The delivery, which was in charge of the Head of Cultural Management of the Company, is part of the policy of inclusion and access to culture in the country, of which PETROPERÚ is proud, because it promotes and facilitates the promotion of culture in all its manifestations as an indispensable tool in the construction of a more caring and integrated society.
Juan Antonio Silva Sologuren, director of the National Library of Peru, thanked this delivery, which, he said, symbolizes an advance in the educational and professional development of people with disabilities.
In turn, Sintya Vilca Villalobos, head of the Cultural Unit of PETROPERU, said that these works become a valuable graphic material that provides access to information for the benefit of people with visual weakness and blindness. "Our Company spares no efforts and is permanently involved in programs of artistic and academic activities that promote inclusion and reinforce our commitment to the culture, in all its aspects," he said.
The bibliographic material delivered includes the works "Vallejo en seis puntos", by Cesar Vallejo and "Arguedas en seis puntos", by Jose Maria Arguedas. It should be noted that the first one is a brief poetic anthology that shows the different stages and tendencies of the author in his creative work. The work "Arguedas en seis puntos" is a fine selection of texts that include stories, poems and non-fiction writings.
