PETROPERÚ promotes tourism in the Iquitos community
PETROPERÚ continues to provide support to the communities surrounding the Selva Refinery, this time through the tourism sector, in a joint effort with the municipality of Punchana, one of the four urban districts of Iquitos and which has greater potential in this area, by have a circuit and basic tourist services.
From the Social Management area of the State company, various meetings were held with community leaders, strengthening this potential by highlighting the attractions of the Independencia community. For this, it was considered to improve the infrastructure of three existing tourist areas: Lupuna Gigante, Caída de Agua and an Ethnobotanical Circuit.
Under this perspective, PETROPERÚ delivered the necessary materials to improve the existing infrastructure, developing training to improve the work of the guides, through community representatives.
Likewise, the state company has been concluding the production of a promotional video that will seek to disseminate not only the landscapes of the area, but also to publicize gastronomic tourism.
These activities will allow the Independencia community to position itself as an important tourist destination at the local and national levels, which -in one way or another- will allow the region's economy to be boosted and, therefore, will allow it to increase the family income of its inhabitants.
