PETROPERÚ promotes the quality of its products at international congress

PETROPERU had an outstanding participation in the IV International Congress of Engineering and Automotive Mechanics, held in a hotel in the capital, where the quality and evolution of its fuels was communicated. The organization was under the care of the Automotive Association of Peru and the state oil company was one of the main sponsors. It had the participation of important companies of the sector, the attendance of students of institutes like SENATI and public in general.

The Commercial Manager, Arturo Vargas Romero, said that the objective of the day was for the main brands of vehicles and their mechanics to know the quality and cleanliness of fuels, with less impact on the environment. He also stressed the need for students to investigate in detail and be informed about the oil and automotive industry.

In turn, the Head of Technical Services Unit of PETROPERU, María Mercedes Cárdenas Peña, highlighted the importance of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project (PMRT), because it will reduce the amount of sulfur in fuels. Referring to this megaproject, she specified that in the case of diesel and gasohol they will have 10 parts per million of sulfur starting in 2021, the year that the new Talara Refinery will start to operate.

Cárdenas Peña stressed that PETROPERU fuels have multifunctional additives, because "they allow to keep the internal parts of a car engine clean, making the injectors work well for combustion in vehicles."

At the end of the event, a trophy was awarded to the winners of the first, second and third place of the Theoretical and Practical Examination of Mechanics, in the categories of Light, Heavy and Minor Vehicles. Likewise, the first positions earned an air ticket to have a guided tour of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project (PMRT). Another incentive was the drawing of 5 vouchers for 100 soles in fuels for use in the PETROPERU Gas Station Network.
