13 sports slabs in the four sectors of Talara were recovered, with the participation of local labor.

Petroperú started the recovery work on 13 sports slabs in the district of Pariñas, contributing to improve the public spaces in the city and promoting sports and recreation in the neighbors of Talara.

The maintenance and improvement actions will be carried out in the four sectors of the city: Luis Negreiros Vega (Satellite City), Las Peñitas (Northern Cone); Luis Alberto Sánchez, Los Pinos, San Sebastián, 9 de octubre, María Auxiliadora, Jorge Chávez (Southern Cone); Aproviser, Sudamérica, Barrio Particular, Parque 54 and Comisaría Sectorial (Downtown Talara).

The maintenance works on the sports slabs, coordinated with the Provincial Municipality of Talara, considers the refurbishment of bleachers, improving the wall or perimeter fence, painting, supplying soccer goals, volleyball poles and nets and a complete basketball backboard, the installation of a manual scoreboard and illumination with solar panels; including focused maintenance interventions in restrooms and calisthenics bars in the Luis Alberto Sánchez slab and in the children’s play area of the Los Pinos, María Auxiliadora, Jorge Chávez, Barrio Particular and Aproviser slabs.

It’s importante to indicate that in the execution of this project, priority has been given to local labor, selected in coordination with the Presidents of the neighborhood associations of the sector, in a public event in which the applicants participated.

In this way, Petroperú reaffirms its commitment with the population of the province of Talara and meets its commitment to contributing to the improvement of public areas to promote sports and beautification of the city, in line with its Talara Community Relationship Plan and the Program to Support the Local Development of the Environmental Impact Study of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project.
