Petroperú promotes security in communities near the North Peruvian Oil Pipeline
Petroperú has been giving a series of safety talks in the communities near the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP). This initiative aims to keep the population informed about the consequences of carrying out unauthorized activities in the security zones of this industrial facility, as well as to promote other preventive measures.
During these talks, parents, young people and children receive information about the risks of fires and explosions in their homes, resulting from inappropriate practices such as starting open fires and incorrect handling of fuels in their communities.
In addition, the aim is to raise awareness about the contamination of soils and water sources, providing guidelines for responsible use of natural resources and care for the environment.
The talks are given by specialized Petroperú professionals in matters of safety, environment and occupational health. These experts make constant tours of the areas near the ONP, training the population in coordination with the communal authorities.
This learning initiative is essential to prevent potential dangers, especially for those adults and children who, due to lack of information, could carry out risky activities in the vicinity of the ONP, putting their safety and that of their surroundings at risk.
Petroperú reaffirms its commitment to continue offering these periodic safety talks throughout the ONP strip, promoting awareness about the importance of protecting this Critical National Asset and promoting harmonious coexistence between the company and nearby communities.
