Petroperú promotes reading and implements school libraries in schools in Loreto
The implementation of libraries and actions to promote the habit of reading is a continuous practice in Petroperú. This work makes it possible for Ediciones Copé publications to reach audiences in places that are difficult to access, due to the geographical conditions of the Peruvian jungle.
Recently, educational institutions in the Mariscal Ramón Castilla Province, (Loreto region), located on the border with Brazil, received books from the Ediciones Copé label to strengthen the reading habit in the area and promote the consumption of new cultural products generated by our company.
Three hundred and forty (340) books were delivered to the Mayor of the Province Julio Kahn, for the implementation of the Municipal Public Library (80), as well as to the IEPS Isla Santa Rosa (40), IEPS Santa Teresa (40), IEPS Carlos Olortegui (70), IEPSM Miguel Acosta (70) and the IEPSM Pastor Valencia (40).
Likewise, the delivery of Copé books for the educational institutions of the Tnte Manuel Clavero District Municipality (border with Colombia), Colonia Angamos Community, Yaquerana District (border with Brazil) and the District Municipality of Mazán, among other locations.
These deliveries respond to the library implementation program carried out by Petroperú at the national level, where books, reading and research are promoted among students, teachers and local researchers. This is part of the Company's commitment to cultural promotion and Peruvian identity, in accordance with its Cultural Policy.
It is worth remembering that a good part of the catalog of the Ediciones Copé label, in determined work of more than four decades, can be consulted and read free of charge and digitally in the Petroperú Virtual Library.
