Petroperú promotes industrial development in the southwest with natural gas

The state-owned company contributes to the widespread use of gas in the cities of Arequipa, Moquegua, Ilo and Tacna.

In line with its commitment to promote the widespread use of natural gas in southwestern Peru, Petroperú has reached a new milestone with the opening of natural gas service for the company Postes Arequipa S.A., located in the Río Seco Industrial Park. This action reflects Petroperú's constant effort to make available to regional commerce and industry an efficient and sustainable source of energy.

Postes Arequipa S.A., dedicated to the manufacture of concrete products such as posts, mailboxes, panels and paving stones, among others, now has an energy supply that not only improves its production processes, but also raises its competitiveness standards.

It is important to highlight that the use of natural gas in commerce and industry offers significant benefits, such as greater efficiency in energy consumption, reduction of polluting emissions, increased durability of equipment and components, direct savings that boost business profitability and the promotion of job creation in the region.

Petroperú manages the public natural gas service in southwestern Peru on behalf of the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM), in compliance with Supreme Decree No. 019-2023-EM, benefiting thousands of families and companies in Arequipa, Moquegua, Ilo and Tacna.

In addition, thanks to the specific agreement for new investments signed with the MINEM, Petroperú is authorized to connect new industrial and commercial clients with consumption greater than 300 m³/month.
