Petroperú promotes beach cleaning in Villa El Salvador
The Conchán Refinery workers joined the cleaning days that were carried out on the Santa Rosa de Llanavilla, Venecia and Barlovento beaches, located south of Lima, with the aim of keeping these spas in good condition and avoiding contamination of the sea with solid waste.
This activity was organized by the Communal Socio-Environmental Monitoring Committee and had the participation of the Municipality of Villa El Salvador and more than 60 volunteers from companies and institutions in the south of Lima committed to caring for the marine ecosystem and the health of bathers.
At the end of the two days, more than a ton of waste was collected, including plastic bottles, glass, and bags, much of which was discarded by the district commune, as they were unusable products. The rest of the solid waste collected was destined for recycling.
During the cleaning days, the volunteers raised awareness among the population about caring for the environment and the proper segregation of solid waste to avoid contamination of the marine ecosystem and the planet.
In this way, Petroperú reaffirms its firm commitment to the protection of ecosystems and biodiversity among the neighbors of its different operations nationwide.
