PETROPERU presents new books of COPÉ Ediciones

As part of its activities to promote literary creation and culture in the country, PETROPERU will present new books by Ediciones Copé, including the winning works of the 2019 Copé Award and an anthology of stories by authors from different countries. members and associates of the Andean Community of Nations (CAN).

These activities will take place virtually and will include the participation of the winners of the last 2019 edition of the Copé Award, participating writers of the books, as well as specialists from the cultural and literary field of our country, who will be in charge of the comments of the books.

The live broadcasts of the presentations will be made through the PETROPERU Cultural Center fanpage and the books in digital version will be available in the Virtual Library of cultural management (https://www.petroperu.com.pe/gestioncultural/biblioteca-virtual/) from the day of the presentation of each book.

The presentation of these books is part of the cultural management work that PETROPERU constantly carries out within the framework of its Cultural Policy for the benefit of students, researchers and society in general.

Poemaries

On Tuesday, July 14, at 6:00 p.m. The poetry collection “Expediente Vallejo”, 2019 Copé Gold Award for Poetry, by Johnny Barbieri will be presented; "En los bosques de infinita música", 2019 Copé Silver Award for Poetry, by James Quiroz and "Las primeras estaciones", 2019 Copé Bronze Award for Poetry, by Karen Vila. Comments will be made by Marco Martos and Alicia Wong.

Gold Novel

On Thursday, July 16, at 7:00 p.m. the presentation of the work " Mi monstruo sagrado", 2019 Copé Award for Novel, will take place, which will be carried out by its author Alejandro Neyra, Minister of Culture. In the presentation, there will be comments from Carlos Herrera and Antonio González Montes.

Story Antology

On Thursday, July 23, at 7:00 p.m., the presentation of the work “Viajes y virajes. Antología de cuentos de la Comunidad Andina”, by various authors. The comments will be made by the writers Solange Rodríguez (Ecuador) and Johan Page (Peru), as well as Ricardo Sumalavia, compiler of the book.

The book was conceived to strengthen ties between the member, associate and observer countries of the Andean Community of Nations (CAN), from the field of creative writing and literary fiction, fifty years after its creation.

Copé Award

The Copé Award is a literary contest organized and promoted by PETROPERU since 1979. This year the Copé Award celebrates 41 years of constant promotion and communication of Peruvian literature throughout the country. Furthermore, this incessant work is yet another expression of PETROPERU's corporate social responsibility in its commitment to cultural production, access to culture and intercultural citizenship.
