PETROPERU presents Cope Ediciones books at the Ayacucho Book Fair

PETROPERU, continuing with its support for the decentralization of culture, dissemination of reading and promotion of the book, will be present at the Ayacucho Book Fair (FILAY 2019) to be held in the Huamanga Main Square starting on June 27 of this year.

PETROPERU’s Ediciones Copé, after recently visiting the city of Huancayo, will present three new books, such as the winning works of the 2018 Copé Award and the book “21 Relatos sobre la independencia del Perú”.

The first contest, in the Short Story category, was established by the state oil company in 1979, so this 2019 said prize reaches 40 years. After each edition, the winning works are published as part of the promotion of the chosen writers throughout the country.

Also, the book “21 Relatos sobre la independencia del Perú” is the collection of 21 stories by Peruvian writers that deal with the independence in Peru; an event with varying degrees of social complexity that is about to reach its 200th anniversary in 2021, the so-called Bicentennial. Writers like Fernando Iwasaki, José Güich, Fabrizio Tealdo, Alejandro Neyra, Dante Castro, Yelina Pulliti, Pedro Novoa, among others.

These activities are part of PETROPERU's Cultural Management Work Plan and reflect its commitment to the promotion of literary and historical research and creation in the country.
