PETROPERU presented the great inca route at the International Book Fair

Continuing with its contribution to the production of literary, historical and social works, PETROPERU presented at the 23rd International Book Fair 2018, the third edition of "The Great Inca Route, the Qhapaq Ñan" by Ricardo Espinosa, this time in a popular version for promote its access to the public.

For the archaeologist Elías Mujica, this book -with graphics and additional photos- allows comparing the Inca trail 16 years after the publication of the first edition. "It discovered and recorded the incidences of the road and the landscapes of the great route, as well as the relationship between man and nature through the 7,500 kilometers of travel," he said.

The author, Ricardo Espinosa, thanked PETROPERU for making this popular version of five thousand copies a reality. "This book tells all that I saw in this gigantic road that everyone should know, because a path that is not traveled is lost, erased, ceases to exist. This is how it has to be known, promoted and defended both in the country and in the world, "he said.

For his part, Carlos del Águila, Head of Cultural Management of PETROPERU, highlighted the constant commitment of the company to culture and access to it through decentralized actions that favor inclusion. "Therefore, this publication will be part of a broad distribution plan that disseminates this editorial and research effort, the result of more than 150 days of travel through this exceptional work of Andean engineering," he announced.

The content of this publication of Copé Editions, which is based on the original book, is adapted to a new landscape format that includes the seven transversal roads and the extracts from the route diary. It also contains a new prologue and a new introduction by the author, both according to the new proposal and the target audience.

This new edition also has updated photographs and maps of the original publication in detachable pages that allow to preserve the same quality and size. Also, new maps have been included, such as the complete altitudinal view.
