PETROPERU presented the concert "Between Flute and Strings" by Daniel Cueto

The renowned Peruvian musician Daniel Cueto delighted the public in different cities of the country, with the virtual concert "Between Flutes and Strings", which was broadcast live through the fanpage of the PETROPERU Cultural Center, last Sunday afternoon, November 29.

The repertoire of “Between Flute and Strings” included the interpretation of important pieces by prominent international composers such as Miroslav Tadic, Jules Mouquet, Georges Bizet, Astor Piazzolla, Henry Mancini, among others, as well as pieces composed by Daniel Cueto himself, in his ascending career as a flutist and composer.

This concert was held thanks to the strategic alliance between PETROPERU and the Lima Philharmonic Society (FIL), which in recent years have made successful presentations in auditoriums in the cities of Lima, Talara and Piura, where the state company promotes Peruvian musical expression. and international for the benefit of its stakeholders.

This year, due to the health emergency caused by COVID-19, the agenda of activities to promote art and culture have been carried out through digital media, reaching audiences in different cities of the country and the world.

Cueto's trajectory

Daniel Cueto began his musical training at the “Arte para Crecer” Cultural Association, where he learned to play the recorder, Afro-Peruvian percussion instruments and traditional Andean instruments. He was part of the Children's and Youth Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Radio Filarmonía Orchestra, the Piura Symphony Orchestra and the National Symphony. In 2006, he moved to Germany to continue his flute studies at the Robert Schumann-Hochschule in Düsseldorf. He then studied composition and music theory under the tutelage of maestro Friedrich Jaecker, at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne, Germany. Since last year he has been living in the United States, doing his doctorate in Music Composition at Indiana University Bloomington.
