PETROPERU presented the 2017 Copé Award winning works in Piura
Understanding that the dissemination of culture is a commitment to the country, PETROPERU with the support of the Universidad Nacional de Piura - UNP, presented to the public of Piura the winning works of the 2017 Copé Awards.
This took place yesterday, as part of a cultural morning that took place at the Manuel Moncloa and Ferreyra central auditorium of the Universidad Nacional de Piura - UNP.
The Sub Director of Operations, North Peruvian Pipeline, Dino Valdiviezo, highlighted the interest of Petroperu to bring culture closer to the citizen that manifests itself in the cultural activities that it carries out every year in a decentralized manner in all its venues.
A sample of this, he said, is the presentation in Piura of the 2017 Copé Awards winners that should serve as inspiration to Piura's authors and encourage them to participate in the Copé Awards.
The winning 2017 Copé novel, “El laberinto de los Endriagos” by Hugo Yuen Cárdenas, was presented by Dr. Sigifredo Burneo Sanchez, dean of the Department of Social Sciences and Education.
Burneo highlighted the literary resources used by the author to show the reality of the scenario mounted in a small town named Laberinto located in the jungle of Madre de Dios.
Meanwhile, Jorge Valenzuela Garces, researcher and teacher at the Universidad Mayor de San Marcos, was in charge of the commentaries on the winning poems “Colección privada o los colores ocultos de la turbación” by Marco Antonio Quijano, “La Noche y su sombra” by Ernesto Zumarán and “Bajo la Mancha azul del cielo” by Alejandro Susti.
For Valenzuela, in these poems he found that the guiding thread that inspired them was Van Goh's painting, and he confessed personally that they have helped him to rediscover the poetry he had left behind.
The representative of the UNP, Prof. Miguel Godos, highlighted the interest of PETROPERU to spread the culture in the country and its permanent relationship with the UNP that becomes an open classroom for these transcendental cultural activities.
