PETROPERU presented book-catalog of artistic exhibition by Gino Ceccarelli
In the framework of the 50 years of creation of PETROPERU, last June 5, in the Kuelap Room of the Cultural Center of the Nation of the Ministry of Culture, the book-catalog of the exhibition "Between the semi-ice and the half-world" of the Amazonian artist Gino Ceccarelli was presented, organized by PETROPERU with the support of the Ministry of Culture.
The table of honor was integrated by Carlos Del Águila, General Director of the General Directorate of Museums of the Ministry of Culture, Aldo Durán, Chief of Cultural Management of PETROPERU, Juan Peralta, Curator of the exhibition, writer and researcher Rafo León, and the artist himself, Gino Ceccarelli.
In the presentation, the Amazon theme was highlighted as a vital input for the artistic creation of Ceccarelli, as well as the artist's mastery and sensitivity to capture, from his own Peruvian-Italian perspective, the Amazonian universe that shapes our natural wealth of that area. It was highlighted that the show exceeded expectations by indicating that up to now more than four thousand people have visited the exhibition and PETROPERU was thanked for the commitment of culture on a permanent basis.
The event was attended by various personalities linked to the cultural field, as well as artists, PETROPERU workers, students, researchers and the general public. The book-catalog of the exhibition "Between the half-moon and the half-world" includes all the large format works of the exhibition, as well as essays by Rafo León, Rodrigo Quijano and Gustavo Rodríguez, prepared especially for the book; as well as poems by Alberto Fuguet, Marco Martos, Arturo Corcuera, César Calvo, Luis La Hoz and Antonio Cisneros.
It should be noted that prior to the presentation of the book-catalog, a guided visit was given to the workers of PETROPERU who met at the Kuelap Room to learn, from Ceccarelli, the inspiration that moves him to produce large collector's pieces and expression of color and shapes, the topics that address it and the rigor of his professional work in these years of production.
The exhibition "Between the half-moon and the half-world" can be visited until June 23 in the Kuélap Room of the Cultural Center of the Ministry of Culture (Av. Javier Prado Este 2465, San Borja), from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am. at 5 p.m. with free admission. And in October, the exhibition will be shown in the city of Iquitos as part of PETROPERU's commitment to decentralize its support for the culture and diversification of artistic expression in our country.
