PETROPERU participates in the initiative for transparency in the extractive industries - EITI Peru

PETROPERU participated in the opening ceremony of the "Regional Commission for Transparency in Extractive Industries - EITI Loreto", attended by representatives of the State, extractive companies and civil society, held in the city of Iquitos.

The event was headed by the deputy minister of Hydrocarbons, Eduardo Guevara, and the Regional Governor of Loreto, Fernando Meléndez. On the part of the Company, the Communications Sub-Manager, Carla Santa Cruz, and the Deputy Manager of Community Relations, Eleonora León y León, as well as the representatives of the National Mining, Petroleum and Energy Society were in attendance, among other institutions participated.

The EITI Peru initiative is a strategic alliance between the State, extractive companies and civil society; which has the purpose of promoting fiscal transparency of extractive activities; at the level of payment of extractive companies, public income (transfers to sub-national governments) and respective uses (expenses).

In this way, PETROPERU is committed to continue working with the highest standards according to our Code of Corporate Governance, fostering respect for our stakeholders, and working with transparency in the management and dissemination of information.

This is the fifth city in the country where the EITI has been installed, previously the work commission has been implemented in Moquegua, Piura, Arequipa and Apurímac.
