PETROPERÚ participated actively in the Ilo Dialogue Table
Committed to the population of Moquegua, where the New Ilo Terminal is being built, PETROPERÚ participated in the Dialogue Table that was held with the presence of authorities and city officials.
During the day, the representatives of the state company reported on the status of the actions that are being developed to reactivate the construction process of the new terminal that the oil company hopes to operate south of the city of Ilo, in the area known as Lomas La Buitrera and that will benefit not only this important province but also the entire macro region of the south of the country.
In addition, the beginning of the preparation of the Abandonment Plan of the Ilo Terminal was announced, a commitment assumed by PETROPERÚ with the population. To this end, the work plan and the schedule of the activities that will be developed until obtaining the Environmental Certification were presented, a permit that is granted by the Ministry of Energy and Mines, through the Regional Management of Energy and Mines of Moquegua.
On behalf of PETROPERÚ participated Tomás Flores, Manager of the Western Social Management Department, who reaffirmed the commitments assumed by the state company within the framework of its social management policy, as well as keeping the local authorities and representatives of civil society and general population of the province of Ilo of the progress both in the closure plan and abandonment of the current terminal, as in the reactivation of the construction process of the new plant. Present at the meeting were the Mayor of Ilo, Gerardo Carpio Díaz; Percy Huancapaza Chambi, representative of the Ilo Health Network and Amparo Verástegui Quintanilla, member of the local Ilo Educational Management Unit, among others.
They were informed about the actions that have been taken with a view to resuming the works, which currently has a progress of over 40%. In this sense, it was reported that the Engineering Department of PETROPERÚ has already completed the detailed engineering and the management of the main procurement contracts, with which, in the coming months, the hiring of the new contractor will be finalized to resume the constructive process. It should be noted that the new terminal has the scope of the reception, storage, transfer and dispatch of various fuels, such as diesel B5, diesel 2E, gasohol 84, gasohol 90 and gasohol 95.
Finally, it was reported that next Monday, May 3, a virtual safety, health and environment induction will be held with a view to a tour that the representatives of the Dialogue Table will make through the facilities where the current PETROPERÚ terminal operates.
