PETROPERÚ organize “Transparency Week”

Within the framework of the International Day of the Right of Universal Access to Information, PETROPERU celebrates “Transparency Week”, from September 23 to 27, seeking to strengthen a culture of ethics in its workers.

In this context, the discussion “Challenges and realities of transparency in the public service and PETROPERU” has been scheduled, in order to discuss the current progress on transparency issues in our country and the region, as well as the challenges present, by leading specialists in the field.

One of the manifestations of transparency is the right of access to public information. This is a fundamental right recognized in the Constitution of Peru, through which citizens can request information without expressing their motivation.

Therefore PETROPERU, committed to maximum transparency in its commercial, operational and administrative processes, has a Corporate Transparency Policy, in order to establish the main guidelines for the treatment of access to information to be carried out with honesty and accuracy. Likewise, it has implemented several channels for the attention of requests for information required under the Transparency Law, thus generating an impact on its stakeholders as a transparent and reliable Company.

Recently, the Chairman of the Board, Carlos Paredes Lanatta, announced the actions that are being implemented in PETROPERU, to combat corruption and strengthen the policy of integrity and ethical behavior, based on transparency and efficiency. Along these lines, the state oil company has recently signed an agreement with Proética, an emblematic entity in the fight against corruption. Likewise, it has been decided to implement ISO 37001, world standard in anti-bribery issues.

The International Day of the Right of Universal Access to Information is a world recognition day designated by the General Conference of UNESCO which is held on September 28 since 2016.
