Petroperú names its new general manager

As part of the company's restructuring, the Petroperú Board of Directors decided to appoint – as of January 3, 2024 – Herbert Manuel Goñas Aguilar as the new general manager, a position qualified for management and trust.

Graduated as a petroleum engineer from the National University of Engineering, he has an MBA from the London School of Business and Finance, in England, and has a specialization in Oil, Gas and Energy Management.

With more than 25 years of global experience in the oil and gas industry, the executive has exercised leadership in the comprehensive management of operations, sales and marketing, with a focus on maximizing financial results, providing advice to top-level organizations and involved in the understanding of energy transition projects in the world, with emphasis on Latin America.

His appointment is part of the change that is being made to Petroperú's organizational structure, which seeks to fill management positions with outstanding professionals selected by an independent entity (Headhunter).

In the same session held on December 14, the Board of Directors of Petroperú agreed to annul the agreement that the General Management commissioned last July to Gaspar Díaz Tello, who as of January 3, 2024, will return to the position of corporate manager of the Talara Refinery.
