During a working visit to the facilities of oil lots I and VI, in Talara, the President of the Board of Directors of Petroperú, Pedro Chira Fernández, confirmed that in both, the production of crude oil and natural gas is maintained with optimal results, at ten days after signing the hydrocarbon exploitation license contracts.

Accompanied by the team of professionals from both oil fields, Chira Fernández confirmed the continuity of operations in addition to reviewing the projects to optimize production in the next two years.

"This shows that Petroperú has technical and management capacity, carrying out permanent rigorous analysis in these oil fields, which are ongoing businesses," said the official, emphasizing that - like any company - costs must be optimized, working safely and efficiency.

Chira Fernández reiterated that Petroperú has a workforce capable of continuing to produce efficiently in both lots and that it will be strengthened with a training program and the formation of mixed work teams, of young and experienced professionals, under a results approach. and achievement of objectives.

It is worth remembering that on October 21, Petroperú and Perupetro signed hydrocarbon exploitation license contracts - for up to two years – for Lots I and VI, through which Petroperú takes a new step in its return to oil exploitation and ensures the continuity of said operations in the northwest of the country.

Lot I

Petroperú had already been operating this lot with successful results for two years. It has optimal and sustained oil production reaching up to 516 barrels per day and 3.4 million cubic feet of natural gas. It is located between the La Brea and Pariñas districts, in the province of Talara.

The performance recorded in recent months, in this lot, confirms, without a doubt, the capacity that the State oil company has in managing the operation and management of this field in northwest Peru. During the contract period, the state oil company will carry out six well reconditioning jobs in Lot I.

Lot VI

As for Lot VI, it is located in the districts of Lobitos and Pariñas, in the province of Talara. It covers 13,772,210 hectares and is divided into 31 deposits. It has an estimated production of 2,000 barrels of oil per day and 4 million cubic feet of natural gas per day and has had a cumulative production of 195 million barrels of oil and 319 billion cubic feet of natural gas. During the contract period, the state oil company will carry out 10 well reconditioning jobs in the lot.
