PETROPERÚ maintains its commitment to Amazonian communities through medical campaigns
About two thousand residents, including children and adults, from communities surrounding the Iquitos Refinery, have benefited from various medical campaigns that PETROPERÚ has developed in recent months, in alliance with the Bellavista Nanay Health Center and the GenRent company, a Peruvian electric power generation company located in the capital of the Loreto region.
In total, there were 10 medical campaigns carried out over several weeks, in which care was provided in general medicine, dentistry, obstetrics, diabetes screening, anemia and immunization days against COVID-19. Simultaneously, medicines were delivered - free of charge - to residents of the communities Independencia, Picuro Yacu, Astoria, El Milagro, Costanera, Centro Arenal, Barrio Florido, Santa María del Ojeal, Santa Clara I and Santo Tomás.
It should be noted that to carry out these sessions, health professionals in various fields were mobilized, such as doctors, nurses and nursing technicians, who attended following the guidelines and recommendations of the Ministry of Health in terms of preventive measures against COVID-19.
The activity, which is part of PETROPERÚ's commitment program - in terms of responsibility and social management - will also include, for the next few weeks, three more medical campaigns, this time for the benefit of the communities of Santa Clotilde, Santa Clara II and Santa Clara III.
In this way, the state-owned company maintains its mission of contributing to improve the quality of life of those populations located in areas close to its operations.
