PETROPERU launches the second stage of the Clearing Plan of Road Right of the North Peruvian Pipeline

PETROPERU presented the second stage of the Clearing Plan of Road Rights and the Participatory Surveillance System of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP), which seeks to establish a sustainable mechanism of transparent local employment and strengthen the relationship with the communities neighboring the pipeline. The event was attended by the Manager of Social Management and Communications, Beatriz Alva Hart.

This way of working will increase the economic dynamics of the area, creating job opportunities for citizens of the 95 communities adjacent to the ONP, through a rotating local employment system based on information that will be validated in the community assemblies.

The Manager of Social Management and Communications, Beatriz Alva Hart, said that they will work with the communities adjacent to the three sections of the ONP, benefiting about 11 thousand inhabitants. "We have already started the call for suppliers and it is estimated that services will start in the month of July. Companies must prioritize the hiring of 100% local labor," she said.

This way, transparent business management will also be encouraged, using for support the homologation and control of suppliers of the company, being an essential requirement to be registered in the database of PETROPERU qualified suppliers. The suppliers are expected to comply with their labor and tax obligations on time. Also, work contracts and labor benefits according to the law, informed the official.

He added that this Plan also includes jobs for the early warning system; the candidates will be proposed by the community assemblies. Alva Hart said "What PETROPERU is looking for with the Early Warning System is zero incidents in the ONP, the company in return will give back to the communities with tangible benefits".

In this way PETROPERU seeks to sensitize the communities in relation to the important role they play in the care of the North Peruvian Pipeline; as well as minimize the risks to this infrastructure.
