PETROPERÚ launches the " Paremos la Olla" program for the benefit of soup kitchens

As part of its voluntary commitment to Social Responsibility, PETROPERÚ initiated the "Paremos la Olla" program that will benefit 20 soup kitchens in the district of Pariñas (Talara) and that includes the delivery of supplies and goods for their strengthening and continuity of care for its beneficiaries; as well as training for adequate sustainable self-management of its resources and safe food practices.

To execute this initiative, PETROPERÚ established a strategic alliance with the Provincial Municipality of Talara, through the Human and Economic Development Management and the Social Programs Sub-Management, jointly selecting the 20 participating soup kitchens based on the following criteria: level of need for intervention, vulnerable beneficiary population (poverty and extreme poverty) and administration of allocated resources.

The soup kitchens participating in the program are: Divino Cautivo de Ayabaca, La Madre, Luis Romero Agurto, María Inmaculada, Santa María Reyna, Santa Rosa de Lima III, Sarita Colonia, Sarita Colonia II, Virgen de Fátima and Virgen del Cisne, located in Alto Talara. Inmaculada Concepción, Rosa Fujimori Fujimori, Paz y Amistad, Pilar Nores de García, San Vicente de Paul, Virgen de Guadalupe and Bienestar Social, located in the North Cone. Meanwhile, in Ciudad Satélite, the Felipe Santiago Salaverry, María Auxiliadora and Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe soup kitchens.

PETROPERÚ provided the aforementioned social organizations with a supply of food consisting of 350 kilos of rice, 202 kilos of beans, 25 liters of vegetable oil, 54 pieces of canned tuna and 36 kilos of spaghetti-type noodles, allowing them to ensure feeding its beneficiary population for approximately 5 months. In addition, they will receive biosecurity and cleaning items packages.

It is important to mention that the leaders of these social organizations will participate in a training program that will allow them to strengthen their capacities for self-sustainability, the self-generation of their resources, knowledge for safe food management and the design of healthy and delicious menus.

Of the 20 soup kitchens whose participants in the training register punctuality, permanent participation and outstanding evaluation, 10 of them will be awarded with furniture and kitchen utensils that include: an industrial kitchen with three burners, 100-liter pots, industrial frying pans, ladles, slotted spoons, bowl-type containers, cutting boards and kitchen aprons.

With the “Paremos la Olla” Program, PETROPERÚ reaffirms its commitment to Talara through the search for food security for the most vulnerable population, thus contributing to improving their quality of life.
