Petroperú initiates legal action against phishing sites

Petroperú has initiated legal action against the constant publications with false content on the Internet and social networks, which seek to surprise users in order to obtain personal information for criminal purposes through web pages that make improper use of the brand (Phishing), including in some cases images altered with artificial intelligence (AI).

The company's complaint against those responsible for this crime is in the Third Criminal Office of the First Corporate Criminal Prosecutor's Office of San Isidro, Lima.

In the last seven months, Petroperú has identified numerous fake pages that illegally use its trademark. Cyberattacks have become more sophisticated and AI is now being used to achieve greater credibility.

Petroperú is developing a campaign on networks in which it clarifies that it does not have any platform to make investments or digitally remunerate users; warning that all communication is done through the company's official digital channels. This method is used to attack various companies.

This is why Petroperú recommends that users ensure that they use official digital channels before providing any information or filling out any digital forms.
