PETROPERU implements "Quality Schools" program in communities of the jungle
To increase the academic level of students in the Loreto region, especially elementary school students from the more than 10 communities neighboring the Iquitos Refinery, PETROPERU launched the Educational Program "Quality Schools", which will be implemented in strategic alliance with the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia and the Local Educational Management Unit.
This program seeks to improve the performance of students through the development of reading, writing and math with the professional training of teachers, the participation of parents and the community in general.
As an additional benefit, the delivery of educational material has been included, in an activity held in Iquitos and in which the Sub Manager Jungle Refining, Eng. Oscar Vera and other officials of the state oil company, as well as the Regional Director Loreto, Luis were present. Alfonso Pinedo and the director of Educational Management Unit Loreto-Maynas, Gladys Ríos Díaz.
AT A NATIONAL LEVEL
Thanks to PETROPERU, the "Quality Schools" Program has been developed in 43 schools in the areas close to its operations, benefiting more than 470 teachers and more than 12,000 students.
In this way, the state oil company demonstrates its commitment to the educational quality of teachers to share knowledge with their students. This training, framed in PETROPERU's Social Management plan, will allow students to strengthen their skills and thus achieve a better education in the country.
