Petroperú guarantees the public natural gas service in the South

Petroperú had an active participation in the XII Natural Gas Conference, which is held in Lima and whose central axis focuses on the role of natural gas in the energy transition.

The engineer Luis Antonio Gonzales Talledo, Corporate Manager - Gas, was in charge of exposing the development of natural gas in our country, which -he said- has been and is a great challenge for the state oil company since it adds to the impulse of the Executive for gradually change the energy matrix.

He highlighted that, a few months after completing three years since Petroperú assumed the special assignment provided by the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM), through Supreme Decree No. 029-2020-EM, to manage the gas distribution system natural gas in southwestern Peru that supplies the cities of Arequipa, Moquegua, Ilo and Tacna, the company has fully complied with this important mission, always with the highest standards of efficiency, quality and safety.

He indicated that although the Executive's mandate ends in December, Petroperú maintains its willingness to continue supporting to guarantee the supply, transportation and distribution of this important fuel. Likewise, he highlighted the forthcoming collaboration with MINEM to support network expansion projects and new connections in southern Peru.

In this way, Petroperú ratifies its commitment to achieve universal access to said energy and make natural gas available to more Peruvians, an economic resource, friendly to health and the environment, which will contribute to the economic transformation of the country, especially in provinces.
