Petroperú explains the contracting process for river transport services in Iquitos.

In light of recent publications in Iquitos media outlets regarding the awarding of contracts to Naviera Pinedo S.A.C., Petroperú reports the following:

1. All of the contracting processes of Petroperú are governed by the principles of transparency, free competition, and impartiality, in accordance with the company's Procurement Regulations, ensuring that all actions are carried out within the current legal framework.
2. Regarding the river fuel transportation service with its own fleet, contracted in November 2024 through process No. SEL-0123-2024-OFP/PETROPERÚ, it is reported that, after the contract was awarded to Naviera Pinedo S.A.C., alleged falsification of documentation was detected. In light of this situation, Petroperú immediately proceeded to verify the documents in accordance with its internal procedures (December 2024). Once the investigation was concluded, the process was annulled and the contract was withdrawn from the aforementioned company. Likewise, the legal department was requested to initiate the corresponding administrative sanctioning proceedings before the State Procurement Court, as established.
3. Regarding the contract for the 900 HP river pusher service, it is clarified that it was signed in September 2024, prior to the events mentioned in point 2. However, given the subsequent complaints, the case is being reviewed within the regulatory framework governing said contract, in order to determine the appropriate course of action.
4. Petroperú reiterates its commitment to transparency and regulatory compliance in its contracting processes, ensuring the efficient use of resources and the continuity of its operations for the benefit of the country.
