Petroperú encourages literary creation in high school students
As part of the support for cultural activities aimed at schoolchildren, Petroperú sponsored the narrative training project "Creating Writers", a literary contest that encouraged writing in high school students from state schools, also promoting interest in reading in young people.
This activity, in which 1,046 students participated, was carried out between April and June of this year and had the support of the Ministry of Culture, which developed the web platform for the contest and the workshops for schoolchildren. The jury was made up of Miguel Ruiz Effio and Juan José Cavero, winners of the Petroperú Copé Award, as well as writers Iván Herrera Orsi and Javier Mariscal Crevoisier, promoter of the event.
The winners of the contest were: Alanis Cóndor Vásquez, who won first place with the story "Niño"; Fabiana Sotomayor Reyes, who won second place for her work "Parada de autobús"; and third place went to Arantza Baños Maceta for her work "Donde lloran los ángeles". All of them participated in the award ceremony that was held in the auditorium of the House of Peruvian Literature.
The winners and the teachers who accompanied them during the creative process received monetary prizes sponsored by Petroperú, while the Casa de la Literatura Peruana gave them book collections. In addition, as part of the prizes they will be able to participate in narrative training workshops and have access to job opportunities related to literary creation.
In this way, Petroperú continues to demonstrate its institutional commitment to promoting education and culture, with special emphasis on the students of the country's state schools to ensure quality instruction and equal opportunities for all.
