PETROPERU donates asphalt for access road in Ventanilla

PETROPERU participated on November 15 of the opening ceremony of the access road to the Pachacútec Emergency Center and the Pachacútec Comprehensive Family and Community Training Center, in the district of Ventanilla, Callao. The work was made with asphalt donated by the state oil company, which also supported with fuels and materials, which were recycled and reused for habilitation work of these centers implemented by the Bishopric of Callao.

PETROPERU Supply Chain Manager, Guillermo Bergelund, who was present on behalf of James Atkins, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company, highlighted that PETROPERU "has been present in Callao for many years, developing social and cultural responsibility actions in schools and social institutions, and also collaborating with the Bishopric, in order to improve the quality of life of low-income people in their jurisdiction. "

On the other hand, the Bishop of Callao, Msgr. José Luis del Palacio Pérez-Medel, thanked PETROPERU for its support in asphalt and reusable metallic materials that have been used in the construction of the mentioned community works aimed at the attention of children, youngsters and adolescents in a condition of abandonment or extreme poverty of the Pachacútec human settlement, in Ventanilla. The ecclesiastical authority explained that this is how the "circular economy" was applied to recycle materials and obtain donations from companies to carry out social welfare projects.

PETROPERU-as part of its social responsibility and donations policy-has delivered 20,700 gallons of PEN 60/70, 2,757 gallons of RC 250 (for road asphalting works), 30,000 gallons of fuel, as well as 600 tons of plates and other discarded metallic materials that have been recycled and reused in the construction of the facilities of both community centers.

"I want to emphasize that being present at this inauguration ceremony fills us with pride and satisfaction, for the work accomplished jointly, which motivates us to reiterate our commitment to continue working for the welfare of the most vulnerable populations of the Constitutional Province of Callao, and the areas where we are present throughout our country," Bergelund concluded.
