PETROPERU detects oil leak at km 323 of the ONP

PETROPERU informs that on Tuesday, January 1, as a consequence of a slight pressure drop in Station 5, a ground patrol was carried out in Section II of the North Peruvian Pipeline - ONP, detecting, at 22:00 hours, a minor oil leak at Km 323 in the jurisdiction of the Santa Rosa community, Manseriche district, Datem del Marañón province, Loreto region.

The Contingency Plan prepared for these cases was immediately set in motion, with a team of specialized professionals moving to the area to carry out the containment and repair work on the pipeline. The amount of oil spilled has not yet been determined.

It should be noted that at the time of the incident, Section II of the ONP was not in operation, since the pumping was at a scheduled stop. Likewise, an investigation process has been initiated to determine the causes of this incident.

The fact is being informed to the inspection bodies.
