PETROPERÚ delivers school supplies to Iquitos students

As part of its social management program “Educating for Tomorrow”, PETROPERÚ delivered 2,500 packages with school supplies for the benefit of an equal number of primary and secondary students from 13 communities and 15 human settlements near the Iquitos Refinery pipeline and the Sales plant of the state company in this city.

Strictly following the protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19, PETROPERÚ staff delivered the packages of supplies to the leaders of the Santo Tomás, Santa Clotilde, Picuro Yacu, El Milagro, Independencia, Astoria, Centro Arenal, Costanera, Barrio Florido, Santa Clara Zone I, Santa Clara Zone II, Santa Clara Zone III and Santa María del Ojeal communities.

With the packages delivered, containing lined and squared notebooks, drawing books, A4 blocks, pencils, pencil, eraser, rulers, sharpener and pencil cases, the students will continue to carry out their schoolwork for the current school year, which has just begun.

As part of its Social Management Plan, PETROPERÚ has been carrying out activities that contribute to improving the educational conditions of children and young people in the areas of influence of its different operations, which are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, oriented to provide a quality education with equality.

At the same time, the Company has been developing various actions in support of the fight against the pandemic, playing a key role in its areas of influence through the donation of a Modular Hospital in Talara (with 30 hospital beds and 15 ICU beds) and the delivery of an oxygen plant installed in the heart of the Loreto Forest, to meet the sanitary needs of the native communities near the North Peruvian Pipeline; among many other actions.
