PETROPERU delivers ecological points to Villa El Salvador school

Continuing with its commitment to the well-being of the communities close to its operations and with the care of the environment, PETROPERÚ delivered four ecological points to the Max Uhle 7236 Educational Institution of Villa El Salvador, near the Conchán Refinery.

These ecological points, divided into four mailboxes each, seek to promote an environmental culture in the more than 700 primary and secondary school students, as well as in the teaching staff through the segregation and recycling of solid waste.

Thus, schoolchildren may dispose of the waste as appropriate, such as paper and cardboard, plastics, organic and unusable, thereby promoting an adequate disposal of solid waste, and helping to keep the school cleaner and in order.

Marissa Zavaleta, director of the Max Uhle Educational Institution, welcomed this much-needed PETROPERU initiative at the school and pointed out that in this way students will become increasingly aware of the importance of recycling waste to give them a better use, achieving that in the future they become citizens committed to caring for the environment.

In addition to the delivery of the ecological points, a solid waste management workshop was also provided with the participation of teachers and students; in which the importance of reducing, recycling and reusing was emphasized, as well as the need to reduce the consumption of bottles and plastic bags.

The Company will maintain constant monitoring to monitor the good condition and use of these points at school, as well as continue to motivate students to continue with this environmental culture not only at school but in their homes.
