PETROPERU delivers Copé books to Municipality of Lima

PETROPERU, promoting the access and promotion of reading, delivered 1,000 books of its publishing label -Ediciones Copé- to the "Lima Lee" Program of the Municipality of Lima; which will be distributed in the communal, school and municipal libraries of the capital.

The event, held in the Municipality of Lima, was attended by the president of the Board of the state oil company, Carlos Paredes Lanatta, the director Alejandra Paola García Oviedo, the Education and Sports Manager of the Municipality of Lima, Juan Pablo de la War, among other municipal and Company authorities.

During the ceremony, Paredes Lanatta stressed that this PETROPERU initiative responds to the commitment assumed with the development of education and dissemination of culture in the country, in line with its Cultural Policy.

For his part, Juan Pablo de la Guerra highlighted the importance of this delivery to continue increasing the number of beneficiaries of the Bibliometros, a library program of the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima, with more than 10,000 books located at Naranjal, Matellini and Central (south and north entrances) stations of the Metropolitano, for the benefit of the users of this service.

Likewise, the “Lima Lee” Project will deliver the books to the educational institutions IE Nuestra Señora de Montserrat (Cercado de Lima), Parroquia Santo Tomás de Aquino (Cercado de Lima) and Parroquia Nuestra Señora de Copacabana (Rímac).

Among these copies are selections of the works of two of the most important authors of Peruvian literature: César Vallejo and José María Arguedas; both in Braille language, with the titles "Vallejo en seis puntos" and "Arguedas en seis puntos", respectively.

In this way, PETROPERU as part of its cultural policy, continues to deliver the publications of Copé Ediciones to different educational institutions and libraries in the country.
