PETROPERU delivers 2,700 school supply kits in Iquitos

With the objective of improving the capacities of schoolchildren from schools neighboring their operations, PETROPERU Selva Refinery is engaged in a campaign to deliver educational material to children from 13 communities near the Iquitos and Poliducto Refinery, as well as to educational institutions neighboring its sales plants.

With the delivery of 2,700 school supply kits, PETROPERU fulfills the objective of improving the living conditions of children and young people in low-income areas. Mr. Fernando Maceda, on behalf of the Selva Refinery Sub-Department, encouraged the students to put their best effort every day, expressing that "today we have come here to deliver these useful study tools, which will allow them to better develop their tasks. I encourage you to study, to receive the teachings of your teachers with responsibility so that they can be men and women of value to your community and the country."

The rural educational institutions that are benefitted are: Santa Clotilde, Picuro Yacu, Independence, El Milagro, Astoria, Centro Arenal, Costanera, Barrio Florido, Santa Clara (Areas I, II and III) and Santa María del Ojeal, riverside of the Amazon River; as well as the Santo Tomás community on the Nanay river.

The urban educational institutions that benefit from this school campaign are: Nueva Punchana and Las Malvinas in the district of Punchana, and Fernando Belaunde Terry in the district of San Juan Bautista.

These actions are framed in the Petroperu Social Management Plan, which with a series of good practices contributes to providing better living conditions for the Amazonian population in the places where it carries out its activities.
