PETROPERU delivered educational packages in communities and neighborhoods near its operations in Iquitos

Nearly 3,000 educational packages and medicines were delivered by the Sub Management of PETROPERU – Selva Refinery, to the children of 11 communities neighboring the Iquitos Refinery, as well as Educational Institutions near the Iquitos Sales Plant and the Amazon City Airport.

The beneficiary communities were: Santa Clara Zona I, II and III, Barrio Florido, Costanera, Arena Center, Astoria, El Milagro, Independencia, Santa Clotilde on the banks of the Amazon River and the native community of Santo Tomas, on the Nanay River. In the urban area: I.E.P.S. N ° 6010120 "Las Malvinas", I.E.P.M. N ° 601458 - New Punchana and I.E. 601409 Fernando Belaunde Terry.

The Sub Manager of Selva Refinery, Eng. Oscar Vera Gargurevich, accompanied by its officials, addressed the student population explaining that "success is achieved with effort and perseverance, you are the men of tomorrow, have the desire to study, learn day to day, attend and respect their teachers and make good use of the materials that we bring here, with which we contribute in the labor of education".

Eng. Vera also stressed that Petroperu develops a broad program of actions within the framework of its Social Management Policy, highlighting sports activities, health campaigns, academic workshops and cultural events.
