PETROPERU continues to support the education of thousands of children in the Marañon basin
PETROPERU, within the framework of its Social Responsibility program, delivered more than three thousand school supplies to an equal number of children from 19 communities surrounding Section I of the North Peruvian Pipeline, in the Marañón basin. There were a total of 3,500 school packages distributed among primary and secondary students.
The children received this important educational material, which seeks to reinforce the development and quality of educational tasks in the area.
The delivery, made through the Sub-Directorate of Community Relations of the oil company, benefited the communities of San Pedro, Nueva Esperanza, 6 de Mayo, Maypuco, San Antonio, San Francisco, Cuninico, Urarinas, Santa Rosa, Nueva Alianza, Monte Rico, Nueva Union, 6 de Julio, San Isabel, Puerto Auxilio, Puerto Victoria, San Sebastian, El Naranjal and Santa Marta.
It should be noted that, with this delivery, PETROPERU completes a total of 32 thousand packages, benefiting 421 public educational institutions, of 277 communities surrounding the North Peruvian Pipeline.
STRATEGIC ALLIANCE
At the same time, PETROPERU and the "Comunidad Salvaplaneta" -a partnership formed by diverse entities dedicated to the awareness of environmental conservation- offered an environmental workshop, called "Huayo y los Salvaplaneta en tu Comunidad" (Huayo and the Planetsavers in your Community), in which 19 communities included in Section I, of the North Peruvian Pipeline, in the Marañón basin.
The objective was to raise awareness in children about the importance of good life practices, preventing certain acts from negatively impacting our environment.
