Petroperú continues to supply natural gas to southern Peru

Two years have passed since Petroperú assumed the special assignment provided by the Ministry of Energy and Mines -in December 2020-, through Supreme Decree No. 029-2020-EM, to manage the natural gas distribution system in southwestern Peru. (Arequipa, Moquegua and Tacna) and up to now the state company continues to provide this public service with the highest standards of efficiency, quality and safety.

And it is that, despite the difficulties to transport the fuel by road, due to the social situation that the country is going through, Petroperú maintains throughout these two years its commitment to guarantee -through its technical and logistical areas- the supply, transport and distribution of this important fuel to its customers.

Simultaneously, maintenance has been carried out on the polyethylene plants and networks in the three cities; in addition to Ilo, thus guaranteeing the safety of the population. The review of the internal facilities in the users' homes was also started, in order to detect possible deterioration or damage.

Parallel to this, an educational program was carried out for users, members of the General Fire Department, the National Police and Civil Defense; as well as authorities of state entities and regional and municipal governments, allowing them to have training, workshops, drills and informative material, seeking to prevent and report possible emergencies.
