PETROPERU continues to provide social support to communities of Andoas, Loreto

PETROPERU reports that the cleaning and remediation actions continue, along with the social actions to attend to the population of the district of Andoas, where last May 25 oily spots were detected in the Pastaza River.

On that occasion, PETROPERU immediately activated its contingency plan, suspending the pumping and closing the valves on both banks of the sub fluvial junction with the North Branch Pipeline (ORN) with that river; located at Km 12 of the ORN and close to the town of Andoas, in Loreto. Since that date, no new iridescences have been observed at that point.

Since then, the Company is in a process of constant dialogue and mutual understanding with the communities of Andoas. In this framework, activities of social support to the population are being carried out, such as the preventive delivery of bottled drinking water, as well as packages of school supplies and the carrying out of medical campaigns, including medicines. Likewise, in the next few days, informative workshops will be held in the 17 communities of Andoas and food will be provided preventively to the population.

PETROPERU is working intensively to address this contingency and will continue to report on the activities it carries out in the area.
