PETROPERU continues developing actions in benefit of the population of Ilo and complies with the construction of the roofing of the Mercedes Cabello de Carbonera school
Continuing with the fulfilment of the commitments made with the population of Ilo, PETROPERU participated in the meeting of the Dialoge Table on Friday, January 12, along with authorities and representatives of civil society, informing also on the progress of the construction project of the new Ilo Terminal.
Among the topics discussed was the confirmation that the hiring of workers for the construction of the new plant will be done through the Employment Office of the Ministry of Labor in that city.
With regards to the information to the citizens about the progress of the Project and other topics of interest related to it, PETROPERU is looking for an office for citizen information and participation.
About the installation of six video surveillance cameras in the area of Garibaldi, which were donated by PETROPERU to Villa del Mar, it was reported that the municipality is doing the procedure with Electrosur, in order to sort out details for their installation, such as for meters.
There was also talk about the paving of Av. Mariano Lino Urquieta, the contract for which is with the Municipal Management.
It’s expected that the next Dialogue Table will take place on Friday, February 16.
Roofing of the school
On the other hand, in compliance with the agreements made with the community, the work of the roofing of the sports slab of the “Mercedes Cabello de Carbonera” School. This ceremony had the participation of the Mayor of the city, William David Valdivia Davila; Juan Martin Angulo Escudero, Undermanager of Social Development of PETROPERU; Isidro Estrada Canaviri, Unit Director of the Local Educational Management Unit (UGEL) of Ilo; Edgar Mayta Loza, Principal of the School and Mauro Figueroa Flores, president of the Parent’s Association.
The principal of the school, Edgard Mayta Loza, acknowledged the support of PETROPERU in the roofing of the sports slab. In turn, Juan Martin Angulo stated that this work was a request of the population, who put it as a point in the agenda, and as such was part of the commitment of the Company in benefit of the population, “Ilo has allowed us to be here and our policy is to continue to be good neighbors; this work will remain, and it’s but part of a relation that will keep growing stronger every time, always for the benefit of the community”, he added.
On his side, the Mayor, William David Valdivia Davila, thanked the noble labor of the oil company, as this work is aimed at improving the conditions for the students and health in general. He added that over one thousand students will benefit from the roofing of the sports slab, which will allow them to develop different activities without being affected by the harsh weather.
