Petroperú continues clean-up work on beach in Talara
Petroperú continues with the cleaning work on the Las Capullanas beach, located in the district of Lobitos, province of Talara (Piura), affected by the presence of hydrocarbons. The causes of this incident are being investigated by the competent authorities.
Since Saturday, December 21, more than 350 people and operational personnel have been working intensively in the area under the supervision of the Environmental Assessment and Oversight Agency (OEFA). These actions are led by the general manager of Petroperú, Oscar Vera Gargurevich.
Although most of the affected area has been cleaned, cleaning personnel continue to be deployed in the area, remaining alert for any appearance of hydrocarbons or any remnants that may exist.
Likewise, the supervision of the coast is simultaneously carried out through coastal vessels, with the aim of ensuring that both the sea and the coastal area are free of hydrocarbons. It is important to note that Petroperú is carrying out all these actions in a preventive manner, reaffirming its commitment to protecting the environment while investigations determine the causes of the event. The Las Capullanas beach is located approximately 10 kilometers from the refinery.
