PETROPERU confirms sabotage of the North Peruvian Pipeline

PETROPERU regrets to inform the public that a new attack has been confirmed on the Nor Peruano Pipeline at Km 193, in the area of the Morona district, 500 meters from the Community of Mayuriaga.

This way, the inhabitants of the area made effective the threat that they left in writing in the Memorial signed on November 20, 2018, discontent with the results of the last Municipal Elections in that district. Said threat was communicated by PETROPERU to the competent entities in a timely manner.

Knowing the fact, that was communicated today in local media by the very attackers of the Pipeline, personnel of PETROPERU activated the Contingency Plan to locate the place of the attack.

The situation is aggravated due to the fact that when the affected area was located, the residents of the Mayuriaga Community do not allow PETROPERU personnel to repair the pipeline and contain the spill of the hydrocarbon.

PETROPERU requests the intervention of the National Police and the Public Prosecutor's Office since this is a criminal act against the infrastructure of the North Peruvian Pipeline, which is considered a national critical asset.
