Petroperú conducts environmental monitoring at its terminals and sales plants
Petroperú, in a sustained effort framed within management transparency, once again carried out its Environmental Monitoring and Surveillance Program in all the company's terminals and sales plants.
The last of these was carried out at the Juliaca Sales Plant, where the main local authorities of the area were coordinated and convened, including representatives of the General Fire Department, the Juliaca Police Division and representatives of neighborhood organizations.
During this monitoring, those involved were informed and trained on the controls used to care for the environment, related to the reception, storage and dispatch of hydrocarbons. Likewise, they were informed about the carrying out of specific measurements and observations, evaluating the efficiency of the preventive measures adopted in each of the terminals.
These actions have two objectives. The first is to strengthen the relationship of trust that Petroperú has with the community through the availability of information regarding the results of its monitoring of air quality and gas emissions, and to demonstrate an openness to dialogue on these issues. While the second objective is to optimize the continuous improvement of its operations.
It should be noted that the state oil company has been operating —since November 2019— the Southern Terminals, which include Pisco, Mollendo, Ilo, Cusco and Juliaca, guaranteeing the supply of fuel in this part of the country.
