PETROPERU conducted conversatory on transparency and anti corruption fight

Within the framework of the International Day of the Right of Universal Access to Information, PETROPERU carried out the discussion “Challenges and realities of transparency in the public service and PETROPERU”, within the framework of the “Transparency Week” held from September 23 to 27, seeking to strengthen a culture of ethics in its workers.

The act was inaugurated by the President of the Board of Directors of the Company, Carlos Paredes Lanatta and its closing was in charge of the general manager, Carlos Barrientos Gonzales. The panel was composed of Salomón Lerner Febres, president emeritus of the Institute of Democracy and Human Rights of the PUCP; Susana Silva Hasembank, Secretariat of Public Integrity of the PCM; Felipe Chacón Tapia, Prevention and Detection Manager of the Comptroller General of the Republic; and Pilar Kawahira, Controller Andean Region of 3M Peru.

During his speech Paredes Lanatta reiterated his commitment to integrity, transparency and the fight against corruption, as the central axis of his management and recognized the full support of the Board of Directors in these points. In this regard, he reiterated that his goal is "to become the leaders of the fight against corruption in the public sector."

In this regard, he stressed that "we must make our mistakes public", transparent our operations and the financial consolidation of the Company; He also warned that "we are in a serious job of transforming this Company" so that, in this way, "we are all proud to work" in PETROPERU.

Therefore, the Company has a Corporate Transparency Policy, an Integrity Code and has implemented an Integrity Line, which consists of several channels for confidentially receiving complaints about corruption and anti-fraud issues.

Along these lines, the state oil company has recently signed an agreement with Proética, an emblematic entity in the fight against corruption. Likewise, it has been decided to implement ISO 37001, a world standard in anti-bribery issues; and addresses requests for information required under the Transparency Law.
