Petroperú completes pumping through the North Peruvian Pipeline

Petroperú successfully completed pumping on Section II of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP), through which 322 thousand barrels of crude oil were transported from the Amazon to the northern coast of the country.

The pumping activities were carried out on Section II, from Station 5, located in Datem del Marañón, Loreto region, to the Bayóvar Terminal, Sechura province, in Piura.

All the necessary previous activities such as pressurization of the pumping line, as well as monitoring and analysis of pressure behavior, have been developed and monitored by Petroperú personnel, resulting in the restart of pumping on Section II.

The hydrocarbon transportation service is being carried out after Petroperú completed all the repair work on the ONP pipeline at the various points where it was affected by intentional cuts.

The company also complies with a preventive maintenance plan, which consists of reinforcing the pipeline, maintaining station equipment, strengthening riverbank defenses, patrolling the right of way, as well as cleaning the reserve area where the pipeline runs.

Petroperú maintains -to date- all sections of the ONP operational, reaffirming its commitment to the country's energy development, through the implementation of safe and efficient practices to enhance the value of the Amazon's crude oil reserves.
