Petroperú closes its I Comics and Graphic Novels Contest
Petroperú awarded the winners of the I Comics and Graphic Novels Contest “No More Violence”, aimed at secondary school students from schools adjacent to the Conchán Refinery, a contest that seeks to promote creativity and highlight Peruvian culture, from the perspective of crime prevention. the violence.
The ceremony, held at the Municipal Palace of Villa El Salvador, was attended by the authorities of the winning schools: Max Uhle, Las Palmeras, Jesús de Nazaret, Elías Aguirre and Peruano Canadianse.
First place in the contest went to Nataly Meléndez Coveñas and her comic “Salvado por amor”; while second place went to Tyrone Zamora. They, like the other winners, received digital graphics tablets, art and design materials kits, as well as recognition trophies. The educational institutions of the students with the first three places also received an ecran with a tripod and portable multimedia projector.
The contest was part of the activities of the “Articulation Program to contribute to preventing and eradicating all forms of violence in the community of Villa El Salvador”, carried out between November 2023 and April of this year.
The contest included eight training sessions aimed at preselected schoolchildren, with the aim of improving their illustration and graphic narrative technique, prior to the presentation of their final works.
Previously, awareness workshops were held with the Virgen de la Merced Community Mental Health Center, achieving the participation of more than 800 schoolchildren, who were encouraged to raise awareness about the prevention of violence.
It should be noted that the winners' works would be exhibited shortly in various schools in the area, seeking to raise awareness among minors about the normalization of violence, mixed feelings towards the situation, and the impact of stress on their state of health. physical and mental, reactions of anger and/or emotional blockage or the presence of feelings of guilt and how to deal with them.
In this way, the state oil company reaffirms its commitment to the development of its main stakeholders in each operation, seeking to prevent and eradicate the various forms of violence that are taking place in the community of said district.
