PETROPERU celebrates the day of peruvian children in Ilo
PETROPERU joined the Day of Peruvian Children by supporting the "Talent Child" contest, organized by the Sub-Department of Food Supplementation and Social Protection of the Provincial Municipality of Ilo and held last Saturday, April 13.
"In this opportunity, we reward the five winners with a tablet for each category. As PETROPERU, we are pleased to recognize this special date, and to be present to witness the talent of the children of Ilo" said Ricardo Medina López, coordinator of the Community Relations Sub-Directorate of the state oil company.
Twenty Vaso de Leche committees that serve 1,200 beneficiaries participated throughout the province of Ilo. The qualifying jury had the hard work of evaluating the categories to the best costume in recycled material, the best typical costume, song, poetry and dance.
Likewise, the assistant manager of the local commune, Arturo Grundy López, acknowledged the support that PETROPERU provided. "I extend our gratitude on behalf of all the beneficiaries of the Vaso de Leche, and we hope to continue working together for the welfare of children in the province of Ilo," he said.
The support to this event is part of the activities set in the Social Management Plan of the Company, which has the general objective of improving the quality of life of the communities and populations neighboring its operations.
Visit by the Regional Governor
Previously, on Friday, April 12, the PETROPERU office received the visit of the regional governor of Moquegua, Zenón Cuevas, who was accompanied by the lieutenant governor, Jorge Lama, and the regional manager, Harley Negrillo.
The delegation was received by Mr. Medina, who informed the visitors of the social responsibility activities being carried out by the state oil company in Ilo, among which are the actions planned for the anniversary of this province in May.
PETROPERU is currently building its new terminal in the province of Ilo in the area of Lomas La Buitrera, in compliance with its commitment to move its current plant to an industrial sector.
