PETROPERU celebrates its 50 years with exposition of Gino Ceccarelli

PETROPERU and the Ministry of Culture will inaugurate the pictorial exhibition "Between the semi-heaven and the semi-world", by Gino Ceccarelli, renowned plastic artist who will exhibit the best of his art tomorrow, Wednesday May 15, starting at 7pm, in the Kuélap Hall of the Cultural Center of the Nation of the Ministry of Culture.

The exhibition is part of the activities that PETROPERU has been carrying out to commemorate its 50 years of institutional life. In that sense, the state oil company invited the renowned Amazonian artist, who with this exhibition seeks to reflect the view of the man of the community and his relationship with nature.

Thus, Gino Ceccarelli offers, as an artist, a very particular look at the reality of the Amazon; the relationship between the forest and the city of motorcycle taxis; the bustle and the jungle.

The long years he has lived in Europe have allowed Ceccarelli to give it a different vision of Peruvian reality, so it seeks to perpetuate his work through magical characters such as sirens, runamulas or chullachaquis.

The inauguration of this exhibition will be attended by the Minister of Culture, Ulla Sarela Holmquist Pachas and the President of PETROPERU, Dr. Carlos E. Paredes Lanatta.

About the artist: Gino Ceccarelli Bardales was born in Iquitos in 1960. He studied at the Regional School of Fine Arts of Iquitos, at the National School of Fine Arts in Lima, at the workshop of Cristina Gálvez, at the Corcoran School in Washington DC, and at engraving and painting workshops in Paris.

Plastic artist, graphic designer, researcher and consultant on culture and tourism in the Amazon, caricaturist, illustrator, sculptor, theatrical decorator, producer in film and television projects, opinion writer and Sunday columnist.

For 30 years his plastic work has been inspired by the myths and legends of the Amazon and the cosmogony of the diverse cultures that inhabit it.
