PETROPERU celebrates a month managing the natural gas public service in southern Peru
A month after assuming the administration of the natural gas public service in the southwest concession, the more than 12,500 families connected in the cities of Arequipa, Moquegua, Ilo and Tacna continue to enjoy the benefits of this fuel in their homes.
"Despite the roadblocks resulting from the protests that occurred in December and the logical complexity of the transition process with the previous operator, the service has been maintained uninterrupted, benefiting not only residential customers but also industries that did not stop its production” pointed out Jorge Ramos Felices, Natural Gas Manager at PETROPERU.
As it is recalled, on December 19 the state oil company assumed the temporary administration of this concession for a period of up to three years at the request of MINEM in order to guarantee the continuity of the service and strengthen the massification process.
To achieve this, the Company's professional team has been displaying its extensive experience and recognized technical capacity in order to engage the transportation of LNG in tanker trucks, carry out plant maintenance work, maintain distribution through pipeline networks, and continue the service. customer and emergency care.
“With this commission, PETROPERU consolidates its evolution and reaffirms its leadership in the commercialization and distribution of quality fuels throughout the national territory, where it has the largest supply network in the country, always in compliance with the highest standards of social responsibility and environmental” indicated Ramos.
Finally, the official highlighted that natural gas is an economical, clean and safe fuel that generates significant savings for the family economy and evident qualitative improvements in industrial production; those that will soon be able to reach more beneficiaries, thanks to important initiatives promoted by the Peruvian State.
