PETROPERÚ celebrated its 52 years of existence, work and development in a heartfelt online ceremony in which the Chairman of the Board, Eduardo Guevara Dodds, reaffirmed the commitment of the state company to improve day by day, making it bigger and seeking to make it one of the most important Peruvian institutions in the economic and energy development of the country.

Guevara Dodds provided an account of the work carried out throughout his tenure and, at the same time, thanked the commitment of each of the state-owned company workers, who, he said, have adapted to situations as complex as the that we live.

In that sense, he described as encouraging the fact that the company's operations have remained standing, despite the pandemic and said that this is demonstrated with an example: The more than six thousand people who are currently working within the New Talara Refinery, which is about to start its start-up process.

He also highlighted the delivery of the Talara Modular Hospital, a hospital that has made it possible to face the pandemic in the north of the country. "The Oxygen Plant in Saramiriza, in eastern Peru, an area very far from the country, has also been a great contribution from PETROPERÚ to overcome the situation generated by COVID-19," he said.

The Chairman of the Board pointed out that PETROPERÚ continues with its challenges, such as its transformation process and the soon return to the upstream, by entering Block 192, a fact that, he said, will occur in the coming months, when the consultation process is concluded. prior with native communities.

In turn, the General Manager, Carlos Barrientos Gonzales said that this virtual meeting is being held at a difficult time, due to the pandemic, but that - despite this - progress continues, without lowering our guard. "Despite the greatest crisis in the hydrocarbon sector worldwide, the company has adapted to the new conditions and has continued with the execution of its energy projects, such as the Puerto Maldonado Supply Plant and the New Ilo Terminal," he said.

For the General Manager, the fact of maintaining our operations, even in the most critical moments, is due to the efforts of all the workers, who have followed the strictest biosafety controls in the fight against COVID-19, protocols that have been recently certified by the SGS company.

The official emphasized the progress made by the state company in recent months, highlighting having climbed to position 18 in the Merco ranking to attract and retain talent; as well as the progress in the construction of the New Talara Refinery which exceeds 95%.
