PETROPERU carries out Integrity Fair
On the occasion of the second anniversary of the launch of its Corporate Integrity System, PETROPERU inaugurated today the first Integrity Fair on the esplanade of its Headquarters in San Isidro, aimed at the general public. The event was headed by the Chairman of the Board, Dr. Carlos E. Paredes Lanatta, and counted on the participation of the Chairman of the Company Integrity Committee, Mr. Antonio de Rivero Salazar, as well as other officers of the company.
The activity was attended by representatives of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Energy and Mines, the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, the Ombudsman's Office, the General Comptroller of the Republic of Peru, the Civil Transparency Association, the Bank of the Nation, ProInversión, the Municipality of San Isidro and PETROPERU, entities that had stands with information on issues of ethics, integrity and the fight against corruption.
In his speech, Dr. Paredes Lanatta said that "the success of the Company is achieved by the contribution of each of its workers: it is you who must strive every day to meet our objectives efficiently and within a framework of morality, when making decisions. It is necessary to make decisions, not be afraid and act honestly, only then can we execute the business strategy and fulfill the mission of PETROPERU in a correct and integral manner"; In addition, he announced that "the Integrity System will be strengthened with the implementation of the PETROPERU Corruption Crime Prevention System under the Compliance Officer, in accordance with good market practices."
While Mr. De Rivero - as an independent personality - highlighted the commitment of Senior Management to the issues of transparency and integrity and recalled that "if we know of any irregular action, we have to give the warning in a timely manner," noting that "inaction before the knowledge of irregular situations that could occur makes us accomplices". Finally, he invited all the workers of the Company "to accompany the Integrity Committee in the mission of strengthening its ethical and prevention culture, for which we require that each one of us be custodians of the culture of integrity of PETROPERÚ".
The activity, aligned with the National Plan of Integrity and Fight against Corruption 2018-2023, aims to create a space for interaction through which society, interest groups and workers are sensitized on the importance of values in the performance of his daily functions and in the decision making in the Company, and at the social level.
Since 2017, PETROPERU has a Corporate Integrity System to establish the standard of ethical conduct that all its employees, directors and shareholders must comply with. It also has an Integrity Line, a confidential complaint system operated by an independent company that has various communication channels so that workers and citizens in general can report breaches of the Integrity Code and related regulations. 77 complaints have been resolved through this line.
