PETROPERU carries out a program to prevent family violence

Faced with the serious problem of violence against vulnerable populations, especially women and children, PETROPERU carries out, for the second consecutive year, a prevention program whose purpose is to raise awareness among the population on the issue and thus prevent these unfortunate episodes from occurring.

In this regard, one hundred residents of 20 human settlements in Villa El Salvador, near the Conchán Refinery, participate in the "Coexistence without violence" program, dictated by professionals from the Justice and Society institution, commissioned by PETROPERU and with the support of of the Women Emergency Center of the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations.

In these free workshops, the participants - who are parents who head their homes - receive psychological counseling, share issues related to changes in behavior and, in particular, raise awareness with examples on the prevention of violence.

It should be noted that everything learned during the six weeks of work that the workshops last must be shared with their families and with the community, so that these trainings have a multiplying effect among the population.

In this way, PETROPERU has the objective that this problem, which affects the whole society, can be visualized, treated and avoided, in order to ensure that more families live free of physical and psychological violence.
